Steve:

I installed new accelerator shaft bushings last fall.  I ended up having to 
cut a pie shaped wedge out of each one.  They are just too large to fit in 
the hole along with the shaft.  I heated them in a cup of water in the 
microwave and removed just a small bit at a time in order to not make them 
too small.

They will still fit tightly so don't use any glue.  You may not be able to 
remove them later.  Good luck!
