Last year I purchased a hardcover reprint of the TR6 Haynes manual from
Rimmer Bros.. Cost is about #25.00.
Just to pass on to the list, I have had only good experiences with Rimmer
Bros. The quality of all the items I have purchased from them have been the
best...no unpleasant surprises.
Last year I purchased a wind deflector from them. A friend of mine who was
visiting his sister in the UK said he would bring it back with him. I had it
sent to his sister's home. He was to fly home on September 15th. and decided
he did not want to be travelling through a number of airports with a rather
large box. He did not bring it back and left it at his sister home in
England. She tried various couriers and the price of shipping was as much as
the price of the item. She eventually took it back to Rimmer who shipped it
me at no extra cost. It's this kind of service that makes me keep coming back
as a customer.

An interesting (and positive) development.
Back in late 1998, there was an extended go-round on the Triumph list about
making photocopies of these out-of-print manuals. A gentleman in Canada had
written to Haynes about this and--to their credit--Haynes' Matthew Minter
replied that "I have to tell you that photocopying, scanning etc for sale to
third parties, even on a non-profit basis, is not officially permitted.
However, I appreciate that you are not proposing a commercial operation and
in practice I don't think that the likelihood of you being found out is very
great."
Subsequently, a good number of folks on the TR list wrote to Haynes to ask
that the manual be reprinted, and the Canadian fellow (and others) offered
to provide photocopies of the manual for a nominal cost.
Several months later, it was discovered that Haynes had indeed published a
"Classic Reprint" of the TR5/TR6 manual. Whether this was a result of the
letter-writing campaign and the emergence of bootleg copies is left as an
exercise for the reader.
Oddly enough, the manual reprint wasn't listed on the Haynes website and
could only be ordered by phone or mail. But after this news was made known
to the TR list, the price of used manuals on eBay fell precipitously (they'd
been going for up to $80.00).
I do not find the TR5/6 manual listed on the US distributor's web page
(http://www.haynes.com/na.html), but you might contact Haynes UK at
sales@haynes-manuals.co.uk (sales enquiries) or b2b@haynes-manuals.co.uk
(business and marketing issues) and ask if there are other outlets.
