TR-6 Front shocks

Can anyone on the list suggest an uprated shock--other than Koni or 
Spax--that would fit the TR-6.  I replaced the original shocks with Woodhead 
original spec. items but they don't inspire too much confidence.  I want to 
firm up the front end without going to the expense of the high priced Konis, 
for example.  Does Monroe make a shock that will fit?  TIA.
