Hi Jon,

I had a similar problem on my 2.5PI. When I removed the original filter and
housing, I put the new seal supplied with the kit straight in without
removing the original seal. It leaked like a sieve strangely enough!

Once I had removed the original seal and installed the new one, it worked as
desired.

Make sure you have removed the original seal from the block. A very small
screwdriver or needle-nose pliers or a dentist type pick should do the
trick.

Let us know how you got on.

I need some help with the spin on oil adapter. The thing leaks, no
scratch that, pumps the oil out of the engine at an unbelievable rate.
It seem s to not be sealing with the factory o-ring in place. I took
it off and added Permatex and that held for a short while. Long
enough for me to trust it to near disastrous results. Is there a
larger diameter o-ring available or some other solution.

Thanks,
