Hello List:

My engine rebuild project is progressing and I've been detailing and
painting in the engine bay.

Amongst the various grommets, gaskets and firewall bits I received new
accelerator rod bushings (nylon bearings) from TRF yesterday. The old
bushings were completely gone! The new bushings are flat on one end and
tapered on the other end. Logic tells me to install the bushings with the
"flat" side outboard to the engine bay. Is this correct? I know it's a
small item but, none the less, one can spend too much time angsting over
minor details!

Also, I'm installing a new transmission mount (the older TR250/early TR6
type) as the old one is just about toast. The transmission did not come out
with the engine but is blocked up and supported. Is it necessary to
disconnect the drive shaft flange in order to replace the transmission
mount? It looks like the mount can be replaced from inside the car (the
trans tunnel is out) with a little contortion.

I hope these questions make sense. Thanks, as usual, for your help and
consideration.
