I had the+ head shaved on my '76 TR6 .110" to get the compression ratio up to
10:1.
A really knowledgable person to talk to about this is Ted Schmacher of TSI
Automotive in Ohio. He can be reached at 800 543 6648. Ted was very helpful
in giving information when I was rebuilding my engine. He also sells
performance parts and can tell about the stuff that is on the market. I did
not have to change my pushrods, however there is very little adjustment left.
I may have to consider getting shorter pushrods if my valves need anysort of
adjustment in the future. I had all this done in 1998 and for now the car is
running great, in fact this is the best it has run in the last 15 years!
Good luck

Can anyone tell me what thickness my head should be shaved to . I will have
20 over pistons and want to get to 9.5 to 1. No more than that.
Also i've seen pushrods that say they are shorter or can be shortened for high
compression heads. At what point do you need to use these and not stock
length?
Thanks
