IIRC, the theory behind the so-called "Kamm" tail is that adding aerodynamic bodywork behind this point does not provide any less drag than a "chopped-off" tail. The advantage of the Kamm design is not in better aerodynamics, but rather in the weight saved by eliminating excess bodywork. Jim Hill Madison WI |
