Subject: Rotor arm hell
Hi all
I'd very much appreciate your help with a problem on my 1970 mk 2 PI.(25D
distributor) She has a huge appetite for rotor arms and has chewed her way
through 4!!! in the last 6k miles. The same fault every time, tracking through
to the dizzy shaft.
Changed the usual plugs, leads etc but no cure.Fiddling around today I noticed
that the clearance between rotor arm
tip and dizzy contacts is about 8mm (5/16 inch)
Anyone know what it should be?- seems a bit much to me.
Is it possible to mismatch arm and cap?
Or, any other thoughts on the probable cause.
Best regards
Chris Hinge
