mk1 rear disc brakes

I was thinking of putting a disc brake set up on the rear of my mk1, but
it looks like it would be a bit tight for space as I was thinking of
having them attatched to the diff with brackets bolted to the back of
the diff for the calipers and a hydraulic operated hand brake. Anyone
got any info about changing it over.
Also is there much involved in making a 2000 injection. I don't really
want the 2.5 just to keep it as a 2 litre.
